International days are occasions to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems, and to celebrate and reinforce the achievements of humanity. Among the many days celebrated by the United Nations is the United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation celebrated September 12 in 2011. It commemorates the date when the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted a plan of action in 1978 to promote and implement technical cooperation among developing countries.
2024 AFRICAN WOMEN’S DAY IN THE DMV
The objective of this event is to promote the inclusion of women in decision-making processes within our community and African society at large. Additionally, we aim to explore the connections between this initiative and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No.5: Achieving Gender Equality and Empowering All Women and Girls.
